Ropsten testnet has been Merged
Ropsten was supposed to reach TTD and go through the Merge transition on June 7-8, and that is exactly what happened today. Ropsten has enabled the Proof of State consensus protocol, which means you can now transact on the network. The testnet will be phased out in the near future. The next testnets to be merged are Goerli and Sepolia.
The Ethereum community was pretty much elated today as the time came and the integration took place. Here are some tweets from members of the core developer's team.

The Merge is a substantial change in supply / demand forces
$10M of daily sell pressure on $ETH would be replaced by ~$8M of buy pressure. This means that "While we now require ~$10M of new money every day to keep the price flat, we would need ~$8M of existing holders to sell their ETH to prevent the price from going up."

PayPal supports the native transfer of cryptocurrencies
From June 7, 2022 PayPal has started allowing users to transfer cryptocurrencies in their external wallets. "Starting today, PayPal supports the native transfer of cryptocurrencies between PayPal and other wallets and exchanges," the financial giant said in a statement.
