Optimism Airdrop 1 is available to claim
Optimism is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that can support all of Ethereum's Dapps. Instead of running all computation and data on the Ethereum network, Optimism puts all transaction data on-chain and runs computation off-chain, increasing Ethereum's transactions per second and decreasing transaction fees.
The very first airdrop of Optimism will be given to its early adopters and active users, there is a list of criterias satisfying any one of which makes you eligible for claiming the drop .
The whole list and specifications about the drop are givenhere.
Let the claims (officially) begin! 🔴‿🔴 pic.twitter.com/9NgqyyQgiy— Optimism (✨🔴_🔴✨) (@optimismPBC) May 31, 2022
Wow, what a day.— Optimism (✨🔴_🔴✨) (@optimismPBC) June 1, 2022
OP Drop #1 had a turbulent launch which we finally stabilized after more than five hours of non-stop work.
We’ll be publishing a full, detailed retrospective on the lessons learned next week. Let’s quickly talk about what happened.
Optimism has burnt more than 200 ETH in total and paid 1.6% of the revenue to Ethereum
After the Airdrop went live Optimism more than 120 ETH by OVM canonical transaction chain , 68 ETH by Optimism Gateway and 42 ETH by OVM state commitment chain (at the time of writing ) had already been burnt .
Optimism alone has paid more than 1.6% of all fee revenue paid on Ethereum yesterday which in fiat money is thousands of dollars of ETH burned in just a couple hours of Optimism Airdrop Claims started.
Optimism was responsible for 1.6% of all fee revenue paid on Ethereum yesterday (https://t.co/ve9FiASLSc).— David Mihal.eth (ℹ️, ℹ️) (@dmihal) June 1, 2022
That's hundreds of thousands of dollars of ETH burned in just a couple hours (airdrop didn't start until late in the day).

Liquid Staking is the talk of the town
Liquid staking is the act of delegating your tokens to a service that stakes for you without losing access to your funds. These services are provided by platforms such as Lido ,Swell Network etc . These are called Liquid Staking Derivatives (LSD) . Lido is one of the LSDs which is widely accepted in the market which is not where the Ethereum roots belong so you should consider other competitors before choosing a staking platform. Swell Network has given the reasons to use their platform in the following tweet .
Liquid staking is the talk of the town lately, and will become more popular after the #ETH2 merge. Existing solutions have paved the way for liquid staking, and have proven to be robust. But, what's left to be desired? Here's our staking 2.0 manifesto 🌊 #NotFinancialAdvice pic.twitter.com/dj8bJfaNsT— Swell Network (@swellnetworkio) June 1, 2022
Coinbase now supports deposits and withdrawals for Optimism (OP) on the Optimism network only
Trading began on May 31. Once sufficient supply of this asset is established trading on their OP-USD, OP-USDT trading pairs will launch in phases. Support for OP may be restricted in some supported jurisdictions.
New Asset: Coinbase will add support for Optimism (OP) on the Optimism network only. Do not send this asset over Ethereum or other networks or your funds may be permanently lost. pic.twitter.com/yuNTp40PlL— Coinbase Assets (@CoinbaseAssets) May 31, 2022
Client diversity on eth2 by Coinbase
Coinbase in their recent tweet has explained what steps they have taken to make themselves the most diversified staking pools .
1/ We told you that we’re working on client diversity on eth2. Today, we’re excited to share an update. 👇🧵 https://t.co/jjzsD9tCXi— Coinbase Cloud (@CoinbaseCloud) May 31, 2022
Zig-Zag labs - a project based on ZK ecosystem is launched
ZigZag Labs is launched to support the vital projects for the ZK ecosystem that are manufactured with the coordination of a wide range of developers, designers, researchers and other contributors. Their main aim is to make interacting with blockchains easier for a non tech savvy person . For example- An order book DEX that emulates existing centralised exchanges perfectly, with spot/perpetuals trading, while also remaining non-custodial and no-sign ups?
Learn more about this first in the game project in the tweet.
