What is Optimism?
Optimism is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that can support all of Ethereum's Dapps. Instead of running all computation and data on the Ethereum network, Optimism puts all transaction data on-chain and runs computation off-chain, increasing Ethereum's transactions per second and decreasing transaction fees.Even Vitalik Buterin himself said that it (Optimism) is probably the biggest attempt at non token holder centric DAO governance so far, adding that he is excited to see where it goes.
Optimism Airdrop 1
Optimism’s very first Airdrop will be given to early adopters and active users of the optimism ecosystem. There are as many as 264,079 accounts already eligible to claim their OP in this first airdrop. To celebrate their Ethereum roots, they also want to welcome active L1 participants who can help scale Ethereum’s innovations, culture, and values to Layer 2. The drop will have SIX eligibility criteria each with different amounts of OP tokens which are to be received, if you qualify for any of these you will be eligible for the drop.
To check whether your wallet is eligible or not you should visit the announcement page and scroll down to the bottom left corner and connect your wallet , you will automatically be shown what all criterias your wallet is satisfying .
Optimism Early Adopters: Those addresses who have made transactions on any optimism application across four distinct weeks before 23 June 2021.
DAO Voters: Address has either voted on or authored at least one proposal on-chain, or at least two on Snapshot (off-chain).
Multi Sig Signers: Address is a current signer on a Multi-Sig which has executed at least 10 transactions all-time (this cohort includes 95% of all multisig transactions).
Gitcoin Donors: Address has made an on-chain donation through Gitcoin. This includes any donation, regardless of if it was during a matching round.
Users priced out of Ethereum: Address bridged to another chain, but still made an app transaction on Ethereum in each month after they bridged, and transacted at an average rate of at least 2 per week since then (top 60% of matching addresses).
Overlap Bonus will be given to those addresses who have “Optimism Early adopter Criteria” and at least four other criterias including the early adopter one.
Reminder: OP Airdrop #1 is not yet available to claim.
