Vitalik Buterin Says AI Could Replace Crypto UI
Vitalik Buterin discussed AI agents as a new blockchain interface at OKX Now, while Star Xu introduced OKX Money for stablecoin savings, payments and spending.
Vitalik Buterin outlined a future in which AI agents would serve as the primary interface for interacting with blockchains using OKX Now in Singapore. Users might tell an agent what they want and let it handle the on-chain steps instead of exploring traditional apps and websites.
The discussion also covered prompt injection and other risks of giving AI direct control. Alongside this goal, OKX CEO Star Xu launched OKX Money, an app that combines sending, saving, and spending stablecoins.
Buterin Sees AI Agents Replacing Traditional Blockchain Interfaces
Buterin's main argument at the event was that AI agents could undertake a large portion of the tasks currently performed by front ends and blockchain apps.
A user could explain the intended result to an AI agent instead of launching an application to carry out an on-chain activity. After that, the agent might write the necessary code, understand the transaction, and do the blockchain operation.
Buterin cited his personal experience using a locally operating AI agent to update his Ethereum Name Service record. According to him, the procedure didn't require the use of a traditional interface and took roughly five minutes. The experiment provided a helpful example of how blockchain engagement can evolve as bots can process ever-more complicated instructions.
Because the agent would be positioned between the user and the blockchain, the change is significant. Instead of navigating each transaction step, the user would concentrate on the desired outcome.
Prompt Injection Becomes a New Security Concern
Buterin did not present AI agents as an easy way to improve security. Although the agent itself would become a crucial security point, reducing some reliance on traditional front ends could lower some interface-related risks.
A prompt injection is one of the issues. An attacker may try to control an agent by providing malicious instructions or information that the agent comes across while performing a task. Additionally, an agent may misinterpret a user's intent or carry out a transaction in a different way than the user anticipated.
When the agent is authorised to transfer assets or engage directly with smart contracts, that becomes very crucial. When an instruction is misinterpreted, it can have unavoidable consequences.
Buterin also emphasised how growing AI capabilities have a broader impact on security. The same technology can enhance software and assist developers in identifying flaws while providing attackers with more potent tools for doing the same. Therefore, he argued that rather than automatically making blockchain safer, AI affects where security work needs to be done.
The world is going digital. Blockchain is on the front line.

Star Xu Introduces OKX Money for Stablecoin Payments
With the introduction of OKX Money, OKX founder and CEO Star Xu made another significant announcement at OKX Now.
The three main features of the standalone app are sending, spending, and saving digital currency. Instead of requiring customers to handle these tasks through separate products, it integrates stablecoin savings with transfers and regular payments.
13 years ago, OKX started as a crypto exchange.
Today, we’re building for something much bigger.
Crypto changed how value moves. AI will change how financial institutions operate. The internet connects everything.
At OKX Now, I shared how we see the next generation of finance: more open, global, 24/7, intelligent, and increasingly onchain.
The infrastructure is changing. The products are changing. The users are changing.
Our job is simple: keep building ahead of that change.
Still learning. Still building. 🚀

Without staking or lockup, eligible consumers can earn up to 10% APY on qualifying USDG holdings. Additionally, OKX Money supports USDG, USDC, and USDT, enabling users to hold and switch between dollar-backed stablecoins.
Both real and virtual spending cards are included with the product. According to OKX, consumers can fund accounts with more than 50 supported currencies, and eligible card transactions are free of foreign currency fees and conversion markups.
OKX is launching the product in select regions, with emerging markets as one of its main priorities. The company claims that the service's objective is to make dollar-based savings and foreign spending more accessible through a single application.

OKX Now Brings AI Crypto and Finance Together
AI agents and stablecoin-based financial services were positioned in the same overall OKX product path by the two announcements.
According to OKX's official summary, the event covered trading, on-chain products, artificial intelligence, and money. The company positions users and agents as more significant actors in the execution of financial activity. With its AI features, customers can already link an AI system as a trading copilot or let it act on-chain within user-specified bounds.
The event, which was held in Singapore on October 6, featured speakers from both traditional and cryptocurrency finance. While Buterin's talk focused on how AI could change how users engage with blockchain networks, OKX described the event as an overview of its products and future strategy.

Instead of treating AI agents, blockchain transactions, and stablecoin-based banking as distinct phenomena, the OKX event placed a practical focus on the convergence of these three fields, given that TOKEN2049 is taking place during the same week.
