Samsung Adds USDC to 82M Galaxy Devices
Samsung Wallet will add USDC transfers to 82 million eligible U.S. Galaxy devices, with Solana and Sui supporting transactions and bank transfers across 60 plus countries.
Samsung expects to launch USDC transfers directly into Samsung Wallet for eligible US consumers during the last week of October 2026. Initially, 82 million Galaxy phones in the United States compatible with Samsung Wallet will support the feature.
While eligible bank transfers will reach more than 60 countries in local currency, users will be able to send USDC to compatible cryptocurrency wallets abroad without incurring a Samsung transfer fee. Solana and Sui will provide the blockchain technology supporting the service.
Samsung Wallet Adds USDC Transfers
Samsung Wallet will support USDC as its first stablecoin. Instead of installing separate cryptocurrency software or handling private keys individually, eligible users will be able to access it via the wallet that is already installed on compatible Galaxy smartphones.
According to Samsung, the service will first be accessible to Americans who are at least 18 years old, have a Samsung Account, and use compatible Galaxy devices with Android 13 or later. Also necessary will be biometric authentication and identity verification.
According to Samsung, users won't have to pay a transfer fee while using an external wallet. Transaction speed will rely on the underlying blockchain network, and recipient wallets or exchanges may still impose their own fees. Additionally, the service will stop transfers to sanctioned jurisdictions.
Solana & Sui Provide the Blockchain Infrastructure
Samsung and the Solana Foundation describe the integration as a native stablecoin experience within Samsung Wallet. Solana is a component of the initial infrastructure supporting the Samsung Wallet rollout. While Solana infrastructure runs in the background, users in the United States will be able to transmit USDC across borders using the wallet.
As a blockchain infrastructure partner, Sui is also participating in the rollout. It plays a crucial part in gasless USDC transfers. Users can send USDC without having to pay a network fee or hold SUI to cover transaction fees, according to Sui. At debut, Samsung Wallet will not support the SUI token itself; instead, USDC will be the supported asset.
The initial rollout is limited to the United States, with expansion into additional markets planned later, subject to local regulatory requirements.
USDC Can Reach Bank Accounts in More Than 60 Countries
The new features of Samsung Wallet won't be restricted to cryptocurrency wallets. Additionally, eligible consumers will be able to transfer money to bank accounts in over 60 countries. It is not necessary for recipients to use a cryptocurrency wallet in order to get the funds in their local currency.
There are fees associated with the bank transfer method, which sets it apart from external wallet transfers. According to Samsung, the appropriate cost and expected delivery time are shown before the transaction is finalised, and these fees are contingent upon the destination country and transfer amount. Eligibility for banks and accounts may also differ depending on the location.
As a result, the Samsung Wallet has two different ways to transfer USDC. Users can use the service to transfer money into eligible foreign bank accounts or send the stablecoin to compatible cryptocurrency wallets.

Coinbase & Bastion Handle Custody and Payments
The infrastructure for Samsung Wallet's stablecoin accounts, custody deals, and international payments will be provided by Bastion. According to Samsung, Bastion is an infrastructure provider and licensed stablecoin custodian that operates under the supervision of US financial regulators.
USDC will be stored by Coinbase Prime Vault, and Coinbase will serve as Bastion's subcustodian. Samsung will not act as the custodian of digital assets or keep consumer funds. Instead, the regulated partners will handle money transfers and custody.
Transfers must be started from a Galaxy device that is registered, compatible, and biometrically verified. USDC will be the default dollar stablecoin offered by Samsung Wallet at launch, with Solana and Sui providing the blockchain network infrastructure for the transactions.
