What is Disney Accelerator Program?
The Disney Accelerator Program is a business development initiative created to accelerate the expansion of forward-thinking companies from all around the world. This program was initially introduced in 2014. Participants in the program are able to get mentoring from the Disney Accelerator Team as well as direction from Disney's own executive team.
The Disney Accelerator Program of this year focuses on technologies like Augmented Reality, Non-Fungible tokens, and Artificial Intelligence characters and is focused on creating the immersive experiences of the future. The Disney Accelerator, now in its seventh year, officially begins this week, introducing the class of 2022 to Disney's imagination, creativity, and expertise.
Companies participating in 2022 Disney Accelerator
This year Disney Accelerator program has complete focus on Web3 and they've selected the companies which are already involoved in Web3 industry. The companies that will participate in the Disney Accelerator in 2022 have been announced by The Walt Disney Company.

Disney's 2022 Accelerator Program has chosen Polygon and FlickPlay to participate in order to enhance their Web3 technology. Polygon is a decentralised Ethereum scaling network that enables developers to build scalable user-friendly dApps with low transaction fees without ever and enhance Web3 experiences. Flickplay is a Web3 social app that allows users to come across NFTs that are tied to real-world locations which can be experienced and share with the help of AR. Users may locate NFTs, Flicks, FlickCoins, and brand activations in real world places using FlickPlay's map. Users of the FlickPlay Camera may utilise augmented reality to flex their NFTs and Flicks in the real world. The UI of FlickPlay authenticates users and enables the claim of IRL features associated with Flicky.
In addition, there are Lockerverse, Red6, Obsess, and Inworld. Lockerverse is a Web3 platform that delivers unique access and experience and enables brands and creators to tell culture-defining stories. Red6, an AR company, has developed a unique headgear and user interface for outdoor in dynamic, high-performance environments. Obsess is an experiential e-commerce platform that allows companies to build immersive 3D virtual stores on their websites and metaverse platforms. Inworld provides a platform where users may build interactive, AI-driven characters for immersive experiences.
