Countdown to Fusaka: Ethereum Locks Dates for Holesky, Sepolia & Hoodi Forks

Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade sets fork dates for Holesky, Sepolia & Hoodi in October, marking the final countdown to mainnet activation.

Countdown to Fusaka: Ethereum Locks Dates for Holesky, Sepolia & Hoodi Forks

Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade is moving closer to reality as developers finalize the timeline for its rollout across major testnets. With Holesky, Sepolia, and Hoodi all scheduled for forks in October, the community now has a clear countdown to mainnet activation.

Fusaka’s Road to Mainnet

Fusaka testing has advanced from Devnet stability to planned testnet deployments. Developers agreed to stage forks across Holesky, Sepolia, and Hoodi, ensuring sequential testing before a final mainnet launch.

This approach balances progress with the need to thoroughly validate blob performance and network resilience.

Key Fork Dates

The official schedule begins with Holesky on October 2, 2025, followed by Sepolia on October 16, 2025, and Hoodi on October 30, 2025. Each fork serves as a critical checkpoint, giving developers time to resolve any issues before advancing.

Mainnet activation is planned no earlier than 30 days after Hoodi, marking the final step in the Fusaka journey.

Why Wednesdays Matter

Barnabas, a core contributor, recommended scheduling all forks on Wednesdays. Mid-week activations provide optimal debugging windows both before and after the event, while avoiding clashes with the All Core Developers calls.

This structured scheduling also prevents cascading delays, ensuring each BPO is fully tested before moving forward. The Fusaka timeline signals Ethereum’s commitment to stability without slowing innovation.

By sequencing forks and adhering to a disciplined schedule, developers are setting the stage for a smooth mainnet upgrade. With Holesky leading the charge, the countdown to Ethereum’s next leap in scalability has officially begun.
