Vitalik Buterin delivered a clear and fast walkthrough of where Ethereum is heading over the next few years. He spoke about trust, decentralization, scaling upgrades and how Ethereum can become easier for everyday people to use. This session focused on what is coming soon and what will shape the long term future of the network.

- Roadmap 2025-2027: Scalability ZK & Full Nodes
- Long Term Vision: Lean Ethereum & Real World Adoption
Ethereum’s Core Philosophy
Vitalik compared Ethereum with failed centralized systems like FTX and explained why decentralization matters. He said that centralized platforms ask people to trust them entirely while Ethereum removes the need for blind trust.
One of his most important messages was “The point of decentralized technology is that you do not have to trust them.”
He also explained the difference between a company and a community saying “A company is a hub and spoke a community is everyone doing things for each other.” His focus was on Ethereum remaining global neutral and open to anyone anywhere.
Roadmap 2025-2027: Scalability ZK & Full Nodes
Vitalik shared updates on performance improvements already happening. The gas limit has increased and will continue rising as the network becomes safer and more efficient.
Two upgrades stand out
• EIP-7732 which brings proposer builder separation.
• Block level access lists which allow nodes to process more work in parallel.

He also highlighted the progress in zero knowledge proving calling it “alpha stage reality.” This technology makes it possible for people to verify the chain without heavy computation. He explained that the goal is for even regular laptops and some phones to act as full nodes making the network more decentralized again.
Long Term Vision: Lean Ethereum & Real World Adoption
Vitalik described Lean Ethereum as a long term effort focused on security simplicity and optimal performance with quantum resistance ZK friendly design and formal verification at its core. On real world usage he noted “We have the technology to make payments really work again” highlighting adoption in places like Buenos Aires where physical merchants already accept ETH.
He encouraged developers and users to experiment more across the stack from installing wallets to writing smart contracts. Vitalik’s 30 minute session laid out a roadmap focused on scalability decentralization stronger privacy and easier full node participation.
With ZK advancements account abstraction and global neutrality Ethereum is evolving toward a more open trustless and user empowered digital ecosystem.
