The Starknet community is in the middle of a governance vote. STRK holders are being asked to decide which feature should be prioritized next on the network’s roadmap, with proposals ranging from faster transaction confirmations to post-quantum signatures.
The voting is live now and will run until September 30, 2025.
What’s on the Ballot?
Starknet users are currently voting on a set of proposals that could shape the protocol’s next stage of evolution. The options include:
- Faster transaction confirmations (<300ms)
- STRK burn mechanism
- Shorter L1 finality (<3h)
- 2s blocktimes
- 2x cheaper fees
- Timeboost for priority transactions
- Native transaction scheduling
- zkLogin support
- Transient storage
- Post-quantum signatures
Each option represents a different priority, i.e., whether improving user experience, strengthening tokenomics, or preparing Starknet for future cryptographic threats.
How to Participate
The vote is being conducted on Snapshot, a decentralized off-chain voting platform widely used in Web3 governance.
- Eligibility: Any $STRK token holder can cast a vote.
- Weighting: Voting power is proportional to the amount of $STRK held.
- Process: Simply connect your wallet, review the proposals, and submit your choice.
Voting Timeline:
- Proposal Created: Sep 23, 2025 · 1:14 PM
- Voting Started: Sep 23, 2025 · 3:14 PM
- Voting Ends: Sep 30, 2025 · 3:14 PM
This one-week window gives the Starknet community ample time to review the proposals, debate their merits, and make their voices heard.
Why This Vote Matters
This governance round is critical because it reflects what the community values most right now:
- Should Starknet focus on transaction speed & finality to improve UX?
- Should it adopt a burn mechanism to influence tokenomics?
- Or should long-term innovations like post-quantum signatures be prioritized?
The outcome will set the tone for Starknet’s roadmap over the coming months, impacting developers, users, and the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
The Starknet community is shaping the protocol’s future in real time. With voting open until September 30, 2025, STRK holders still have a chance to influence which feature comes next.
