Ethereum’s core developers have advanced the Glamsterdam upgrade process by shortlisting five consensus-layer “headliner” EIPs and setting a clear feedback and voting timeline.

Shortlisted Consensus-Layer Headliners

Core devs confirmed five candidate EIPs for the Glamsterdam upgrade’s consensus layer, adhering to the “one headliner per layer” rule. The proposals are EIP-7732 (Enshrined Proposer Builder Separation), EIP-7782 (6-second slot reduction), EIP-7805 (Fork Choice Inclusion Lists), EIP-7919 (Pureth – Provable RPC Responses), and EIP-7942 (Available Attestation).

Divergent Viewpoints in Discussion

During ACDC #160, developers expressed varied preferences: some argued for slot-time reduction first, deferring ePBS; others prioritized inclusion lists to simplify fork-choice logic; while several emphasized synchronizing CL and EL enhancements for cohesive implementation.

Feedback & Voting Timeline

To ensure broad stakeholder alignment, core devs will solicit input from application teams and the wider community over the next week. A follow-up ACDE call will narrow the candidate set, with the formal consensus-layer headliner vote scheduled for July 24, 2025, followed by execution-layer headliner decisions in subsequent meetings.

Conclusion

With the shortlist finalized and a structured feedback process in place, Ethereum’s developers are on track to select Glamsterdam’s flagship consensus-layer feature, paving the way for coordinated execution-layer enhancements and a robust next fork.
