Last month we heard that Amazon may start accepting cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and the rumor give a bump to sudden price of Bitcoin. According to Whois XML API record Amazon secured "amazonbitcoin.com," back in 2013, but we haven’t seen much progress on that front so far. So, it is hard to say what is the real intent behind securing these domain names. The rumor of “Amazon Token” is not off the street.

Amazon Pay's VP Patrick Gauthier told CNBC last month that Amazon had no plans to accept cryptocurrency because there hasn't been much demand yet, and Amazon may simply be protecting its brand name.

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos became the richest person in the world last Friday, October 27, 2017. Just after that, the news of Amazon gearing up to enter cryptocurrency space with something big is definetly good for blockchain believers. We hope this time it is not just limited to "protecting its brand name" but real time implementation of cryptocurrency in e-commerece.
